Creating privacy is not a choice when it comes to your backyard, but instead creating privacy is a requirement for establishing the perfect outdoor living space for your home.  There are several ways to make your outdoor patio or outside living area as clandestine as you’d like the area to be.

First, you want to make sure the space inviting stays inviting and private at the same time. This duality can be achieved through upscale outdoor furniture (as we provide at Ken Rash’s Arkansas) plants, decorative walls or other backyard structures.  The key is to artistically screen off the area without drawing attention to the very area you are trying to conceal. In bigger yards think about layering screening plant material, with taller in back and shorter in front. This layered effect will to create a lush look.  (Make sure not to over screen the outdoor area with plants. It will look like too much of a good thing.) Small backyards require more creativity to preserve open space with privacy.  Think of using design wood panels with windows and art, or  surrounded quaint space with simple greens to maximize floor space. Also remember that mind is over matter. You can take attention off of nearby roads or noise by creating a soothing feel. Use a fire pit offered at Ken Rash’s Arkansas for a crackling fire, soothing running water, roast meats with one our outside grills or even play soft music.
